Bristow Middle School is a middle school in West Hartford, Connecticut. It is one of the three public middle schools in the town of West Hartford.[1]
Bristow opened on September 1, 2005. Bristow is noticeably smaller than the two other Middle Schools in West Hartford, with roughly 420 students. Like the other middle schools, there is a homeroom (called 'Advisory' at Bristow), academic core periods, electives such as art and wellness, lunch, world language (either Spanish or French), a learning lab and academic support.
Enrollment at Bristow is via a lottery-like program that automatically includes students who attend each elementary public school in West Hartford. Students who are not enrolled in a public school, but reside in West Hartford must apply to be included in the program.[2] Unlike to other two Middle Schools, Bristow's students represent all of the District's Elementary Schools. In this manner, Bristow represents the diversity of the entire School District.
